Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu (BJJ) focuses on grappling and fighting on the ground. The goal is to take the fight to the ground and then to defeat the opponent with a joint lock or a stranglehold.
BJJ promotes the concept that a smaller and weaker person can successfully defend themselves. You can overcome a bigger and stronger opponent with good technique and leverage.

PATRICK
Patrick started Jiu Jitsu in 2008—not knowing it would become such a big part of his life. Over the years, he trained all over the world—from California to Australia—always learning from the best and refining his approach.
He’s a black belt under 12-time world champion Caio Terra and has competed at the IBJJF Worlds, Europeans, and even at the Hallenstadion in Zurich.
As head coach at BJJ Lab Zürich, Patrick helps students get better—whether they want to compete, stay active, or just enjoy learning something new.

JOONAS
Joonas started training in Estonia and moved to Switzerland as a blue belt. He joined the BJJ Lab and quickly became an important part of our community.
Joonas is a brown belt under 12-time black belt world champion Caio Terra.
